Busy Week

We went to Devon County Show and it poured with rain!!!! We were towed in by tractor with mud everywhere!! Frog is still lame so I took Mr Oosh, the ex-racehorse, for a stay away day with some riding about!
A very disappointing outing! The Cobs performed as good as always but didn't do as well as I thought they should! Jovian was fourth in his first HOYS qualifier class and fourth in the Maxi Cob class. Volantis was sixth, which was surprising as the ride judge told me she had a good ride but hey, that's showing. Sometimes we wonder why we do it. Onwards and upwards with a swift drive home and an about turn back to Devon to judge!! Busy times ahead!!

CHAPS Spring Show 2017!

It was another cold Saturday morning, and the first in May! We were off to Addington again for the CHAPS (Coloured Horse and Pony Society) show and the Spring Festival!
So, it was time for the new boy on the team to make his debut!! Prospero was second in the Open Cob class. I was really pleased as the cob in top spot had already been to HOYS. He behaved really well and gave the judge a good ride. Cappa Sham did his first Side Saddle class and won. I had such a great ride I should have done it before! He was also second in a big HOYS class so it was a good day. Praying for the sun next time!!

Another Busy Weekend

Sunday, the last day in April, felt like December when we went off to Addington Equestrian Centre. At least it wasn’t too early. The new Hunter, Celestial Rock, went for a ride about while Frog, aka Super Moon, was fifth, which was a bit disappointing as he went well but we can't win them all. Moo 2, aka Volantis, was second in the Heavy Weight class and Pinky, aka Jovian, was Champion Cob.
We went home and then off the following day to The Showing Register at Olney Show Ground, near Coventry! There was a huge HOYS coloured class. Cappa Sham finished third with the highest ride mark but we were not going to beat the Hoys Champion!! Next weekend we are off to Addington again with a couple of new recruits!!

Rosette Cricket Score

Well the new Baileys team are going well! Sunday saw us at Sands Farm Equitation Centre. Buzz Whizer won the In-Hand Championship in the morning. He was much better behaved than the week before and a change of bridle seems to have done the trick!!

The ridden section also produced good results with Prosperio winning the coloured class and the new Hunter winning the Hunter class and then going Champion. Astronomy, who is for sale, won the In-Hand Cob class and was second in the Ridden section, which was a great result for a four-year-old’s first time out. Unfortunately, we just can't keep all these cobs!
